Katie Galbraith, MBA, FACHE President Duke Regional Hospital

Katie Galbraith has a solid track record of building a culture of inclusion and respect through more than 20 years of progressive experience in hospital operations, strategic planning, marketing and corporate communications within a world-class academic health system. Since 2001, she has held various responsibilities at Duke Regional Hospital, from marketing and business development to hospital operations, serving as vice president before being named President in May 2014.

In her role, Katie oversees Duke Regional Hospital, a 369-bed community hospital with 17,000 annual admissions and 63,000 annual Emergency visits. Duke Regional has a strong tradition of caring for Durham and the surrounding communities and has been part of Duke University Health System since 1998. The hospital has consistently been recognized for excellence in patient care, including achieving Five Stars from CMS in 2019 and 2020.

Dan Newman
Daniel Newman, MHA, FACHE Chief Executive Officer, Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital Senior Vice President, Houston Methodist

Dan Newman is the Senior Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Houston Methodist Clear Lake.  Mr. Newman joined Houston Methodist in 2005 as an Administrative Fellow.  Following his Fellowship, he served a variety of leadership roles in both our community and medical center hospitals.  Prior to joining Houston Methodist Clear Lake, Mr. Newman was Vice President of System Integration for Houston Methodist.  During this time, he was also responsible for oversight of the Orthopedics and Sports Medicine service line for Houston Methodist Hospital.

Prior to joining Houston Methodist, Mr. Newman held a variety of leadership and clinical positions within both the for-profit and non-profit sectors.  Currently he is a board member of the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership and the Nasa Area Management Improvement District.  Dan has also served on the Board for the Clear Creek Education Foundation (CCEF) and served as chair of the CCEF Finance Committee.

Under his leadership, Houston Methodist Clear Lake has also been named the Community Partner of the Year for 2019 and also The Leader in Me Visionary Partner from Clear Creek Independent School District.

Dan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Occupation Therapy from the University of South Alabama and a Master’s degree in Health Administration from Tulane University.  Mr. Newman is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Suzanne Beauvoir Jackson, FACHE
Suzanne B. Jackson, MHSA, FACHE VP of Urgent Care Services HCA Healthcare

A creative healthcare executive with over 20 years of experience and a proven track record of building relationships, executing on strategies and ensuring operational excellence, Suzanne is an 18 year veteran of HCA Healthcare. She has held hospital CEO, COO and Associate Administrator leadership roles, and currently is serving as HCA’s Vice President of Urgent Care Services responsible for clinic operations, staff training and development as well as regulatory compliance & quality accreditation. At the end of 2019, HCA urgent care was comprised of over 150 clinics across 16 markets.

A native of Skokie, Illinois, Suzanne started her career as a healthcare consultant in the Chicago office of Cap Gemini Ernst & Young after receiving a master’s degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan and bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois – Champaign.

Suzanne possesses a strong commitment to community service and professional development. Suzanne has been recognized over her career for her commitment to her community and for her leadership accomplishments. A few recognitions include the National Association of Health Services Executives – Washington Metropolitan Area chapter’s Distinguished Female Healthcare Leader Award,’s Top Blacks in Healthcare Honorees and University of Illinois College of Applied Health Sciences’ Distinguished Alumni Award.

A Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, she has continued to promote excellence in healthcare management through involvement with local service organizations, such as Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Crisis Link, Virginia State University’s Business Council and the North Texas Chapter of Jack and Jill of America. Suzanne was appointed to the Commonwealth of Virginia Governor’s Council for Women, served as ACHE District 2’s Regent At Large in addition to serving as a board member for the American Hospital Association’s Institute for Diversity in Healthcare Management.

Suzanne, her husband and two daughters, Taylor and Zoe, have resided in Dallas since August of 2017.

Luis Fonseca, MHA, MBA, FACHE COO of Alameda Health System

Luis Fonseca is an accomplished health care executive with extensive experience improving and expanding health care services while achieving excellence in clinical and operational outcomes. In his role as Chief Operating Officer for Alameda Health System, Mr. Fonseca provides operational and strategic leadership to the executives of AHS’ hospitals, wellness centers, and skilled nursing facilities. He also plays a key role in ensuring that operations are functioning effectively and strategy is properly executed while maintaining a focus on clinical excellence and quality improvement.

Prior to joining AHS, Mr. Fonseca served as Chief Operating Officer at Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System in Salinas, Calif., where he supported growth in new programs and existing services. He also provided management oversight for clinical integration and quality improvement resulting in distinctions for cardiac care and chest pain, and Joint Commission certifications for stroke, and hip and knee services.

He has also served as Administrator of Support Services for Kaiser Permanente, Walnut Creek, Calif., and Administrator of Facilities Operations at LAC+USC Healthcare Network, Los Angeles, Calif. Mr. Fonseca is an active member of the California Association of Healthcare Leaders (CAHL) and frequently guest lectures at colleges and universities throughout Northern California. He is the current Regent-at-Large (District 5) for the American College of Healthcare Executives and is a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives (ACHE), and a Fellow of the California Health Leadership College.  Mr. Fonseca holds a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business with a Major in Business Management.

Mr. Fonseca serves as a board member of the Donor Network West, an Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) dedicated to providing the gift of life, and the National Association for Latino Healthcare Executives (NALHE), an organization that is committed to preparing the next generation of Latino healthcare executives-leaders who will help meet the challenges for the nation’s future and improve healthcare.
